Server 2003 Extend System Partition / Windows Server 2003 Extend System Volume

Almost every computer user knows if a disk partition doesn’t have enough free space, you can no longer store more data to the disk partition. Especially, if the Server 2003 system partition is running outof space, it may also affect the proper operation of the computer. Therefore, it is necessary to find a useful solution to solve this problem.

Useful Method to Extend Server 2003 System Partition
The most direct way to solve system partition low disk space problem is to delete files stored on this partition, but it is not the best way. In order to make the system partition have enough space to store more data, the most useful way is to extend the system partition. Partition manager is available for any user whose computer is running Windows Server OS to extend system partition without deleting original files from the disk. Besides, it is effective and risk free. Therefore, it doesn’t cause any damage to the Server 2003 system or data stored on the disk partitions.

Step1. Free download the partition manager, install and start software. Right click any of disk partition except the system partition, select "Resize/Move" option.
Step2. Move arrows to shrink the select partition and the free space will be shown as unallocated volumes.
Step3. Move the unallocated volume close to the system partition. Right click the system partition and select "Resize/Move" option. Move the arrows to extend the system partition.

Why Do You Need to Shrink Other Disk Partition before Extending System Partition?
Some users often feel not understandable why they need to shrink a disk partition firstly in order to extend system partition. In fact, it is quite easy to understand. When you want to extend the system partition, the whole capacity of the hard disk doesn’t change. Therefore, you need to reduce free disk space from other disk to add it to the system partition.

Is There Any Other Method to Increase System Partition on Server 2003?
As far as I know, there is no other method that can extend the system partition except using partition software. However, there is some common ways that can help free some space from system partition.
1. Delete unnecessary files or move some files to other disk partitions. It is the easiest way, but it cannot solve the problem thoroughly.
2. Clean up disk partition to erase virtual data from the disk partition. You can clan up disk partition by following this way: right click system partition =>> select "Disk Cleanup" option.
