Hi
all! System
partition is running out of disk space on Windows 2003 Server. Can I resize
the system partition without formatting? I heard that partition magic can
resize a disk partition on Server, but I don’t know how to do it. Have anybody
used it? Thanks for any help!
Partition Magic for Server 2003 System Partition Resizing
It is true that partition magic Server is helpful with
system partition resizing when it is running out of disk space on Windows
Server 2003. With partition magic Server you can extend system partition, shrink disk partition and move unallocated
partition. The advantage of partition magic Server is that it enables you to resize
disk partition on Windows Server 2003 without losing any data, so a lot of
users would like to use this software.
Windows 2003 Extend System Partition
Step1. Download, install and run partition magic Server. Right click a partition that has lots of free disk
space and choose "Resize/Move" option.
Step2. Move the arrow when mouse shows
double arrows to shrink the selected partition. Then, some unallocated space
will be squeezed after shrinking.
Step3. You need to move the unallocated
space close to system partition. Then, right click system partition and choose "Resize/Move"
option.
Step4. Move the arrow when mouse shows
double arrows so as to increase the size of system partition and then click "Apply"
button.
SBS 2003 Extend System Partition
SBS 2003 is an edition of Windows 2003
Server, so partition magic Server can also work on SBS 2003 OS to
extend system partition when it runs on low disk space. The partition magic Server
works on SBS 2003 32 bit and 64bit to extend
system partition without rebooting your computer. It is a user-friendly
partition software which enables users to extend system partition only with a
few mouse clicks and drags. This partition software is risk-free, so it will
not hurt your Server system or cause any trouble to your computer.
Partition Management to Improve Server 2003
Performance
Good performance is quite important for all
computer users, while good partition management is able maximize the
performance of Server 2003. Usually, people like to repartition a hard disk
into several partitions in order to perform good partition management. For
example, you may repartition a 500GB hard disk into 4 drives. Among those
drives, one drive (usually C drive) might be used to install operating system,
while the rest are used for data storage. However, the problem is that you
might allocate the disk space unreasonably, say some partitions are too large
while some are too small. If so, do you need to repartition the hard disk? In
fact, partition magic Server provides solution to reallocate
the disk space without repartitioning the hard disk.
Partition Software Is Available in Following Cases
Case1: I am looking for a way to fix low
disk space warning on C drive in my Server 2003 Windows PC. The size of C
drive is about 80GB with less than 2GB free space now, so Windows always pop up
low disk space message every time I boot my computer. When I run some software
or want to install a program, Windows also frequently pops up low disk space warning.
Is there any method that I can solve this problem?
Case2: C drive on Server 2003 is too small to install any software, so I
want to increase
the size of C drive. But the problem is that I cannot extend disk partition
in "Disk Management" on Windows 2003. Somebody says that I can run
Diskpart command to extend a NTFS partition, but the C drive on my Server is FAT32
file system. What can I do to extend
C drive on Windows Serer 2003?
